Are We Helping Our Customers Spend More on Your Site?
Isn’t it disappointing whenever visitors, after taking forever checking our inventory suddenly leave our site without buying one of our products or services? These type of visitors are either uninterested or they simply came across something they don’t like along the way. Think how much sales we are wasting just because of a simple feature we forgot (or simply neglected) to implement. Are we giving enough hand to help potential buyers complete a sale?
Take Matt’s case in his article regarding his suggestion on tweaks Amazon needs to make. Matt is a frequent buyer and buys books compulsively (sorry Matt, I just copied what you said.) But he should have bought more if Amazon only allowed him to. Of course Amazon would have allowed him to be compulsive as often as he wants but some site features (or lack of features) on the Amazon site prevent him from doing so, thus, wasting a lot potential sales from Matt and other people like him. Summarizing the suggestions he mentioned on his article, we can come up with these 4 very important points:
Information exchange on the internet is so diverse that you won’t know what happens behind your back unless you started listening to what others say. Take time to leave the convenience of your site’s pages and search for sources that might be discussing matters relating to your business. They might be blogs, site reviews, product reviews, forums, chats and other publicly-available information exchanges. Chances are, you might be the one on the hot seat this time and you’re the only one who didn’t know.
