Drive SEO Using Press Releases

These days the more traditional forms of news media has seen their influence and popularity diminished with the development of the Internet. One form of tradition media that has found itself a new purpose on the Internet is Press Releases and it is even more pronounced as a SEO tool.

People are now unwilling to wait until a certain time of day, or for it to come through a particular vehicle, to get information about available products and services, and other items of interest. They want to know, so they go online to find out what they want. Often they will use the more popular search engines to search for what they want. So if a company can get their information at the top of search results, they will benefit greatly.

Press releases are great for driving your SEO program. They do this by providing what is referred to as direct to consumer releases. These serve to relay information that is important for the consumer and the general public in the form of online content.

To design a press release to be used as part of a SEO program will require some degree of knowhow and expertise, not to mention an understanding of what this entails from a hr point of view, it also may be worth investing in some hr management software. The release will have to be written with certain keywords or phrases that are relevant to the service, product, or organisation. When this is done the consumer is able to see the connection between the information and what they are looking for.

It is best to make sure that a press release is very relevant, not only to the targeted audience but also to journalists. This is because if they are well written they will be considered newsworthy and not just another promotional piece.

Always keep in mind that media relations is still a key part of the marketing process. So any story that is featured by any news outlet will give that story some degree of credibility.
